Onpa tullut lueskeltua muotilehtiä loman aikana. Vaikka omasta urastani muodin parissa on ihan liian pitkä aika ollakseni millään lailla uskottava, en malta olla saarnaamatta kausi toisensa jälkeen siitä, mitkä ovat milloinkin mielestäni kaikista typerimpiä trendejä ja mitkä näyttävät minusta hyviltä. Ja tähän väliin disclaimer siitä, että oikeasti jokainenhan pukeutuu juuri siten, kuten itse parhaaksi näkee - trendeistä ja toisten mielipiteistä (myös omistani) viis.
Syksyn parhaat: mielenkiintoiset ja etenkin kirjaillut neuleet, brokadityyppiset kankaat, isot korvikset + ei-meikkiä-meikki, sekä nörtti-Gucci. Oma henkilökohtainen yllärisuosikkini: mekko housujen kanssa - kuvatodistusaineistoa tulossa pian.
Syksyn surkeimmat ja mielikuvituksettomat: päästä-varpaisiin-kasari ja turkis. Ei, ei, ei.
It might be years and years since I've worked in the fashion industry, but nothing is going to stop me from hashing out the season's trends as they waltz in on the pages of fashion mags. I like to give my two cents on the current musings of fashion, no matter how much time has passed since my years on the catwalk or in fashion retail. So here it comes: my thoughts on what's in and what's out this coming fall/winter season. Stating the obvious first: of course the style of EVERY season EVER is to dress for oneself, no matter what the trend reports (or I) say.
What's cool: interesting knits, brocade-type fabrics, big earrings with barely-there-makeup, the new geek-Gucci (although the price of that embroidered bird sweater, 5.000 GBP, is outrageous). My personal favorite: wearing a dress over trousers (photographic evidence will be available soon).
What's not cool: full-blown all-eighties, and more importantly, fur. Just stop trying to make it happen. It never will.
